PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP

A Collaborative Approach to Falls Prevention

OPA will recognize excellence in the profession, in the community, and with the Association at the Annual Awards Luncheon. Media representatives will be recognized for their support of educating the public on safe medicine use and for awareness of pharmacy issues.

Trade Show and Prize Drawing
Friday, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. & Saturday, 11:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Attendees may transform their practice by meeting exhibitors and learning about their products and services. Network with colleagues over lunch. Visit the exhibitors for a chance to win a BIG prize. There is no concurrent programming during Trade Show hours, so this is the perfect time to network with your colleagues and have a little fun!

Our annual Poster Session will feature the research of the faculty and students from Ohio’s colleges of pharmacy, as well as practitioners from around the state. The Ohio Research Forum 2020 CPE session will be held at 1:00 p.m.

Innovative Pharmacy Business Plan Competition 2020

In this annual competition, students hav been invited to submit business plans detailing the loan request, mission statement ,detailed description of the business, marketing plan and financial reports for buying a pharmacy or developing innovative pharmacy services. Three finalist teams will present their plans to a panel of judges. Hear what the students envision for the future of pharmacy and get ideas for your own practice.

Hot Topics for New Practitioners and Beyond

There can be many opportunities and challenges that arise for new and experienced practitioners. How each situation is handled is essential to moving forward in your career. Come learn from a variety of pharmacists on how to embrace opportunities and overcome challenges for different hot topics such as suddenly in charge, being ahead of change, precepting, and building effective mentor relationships.

Student Law Review

Dr. Donald Sullivan, Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, will give a review of Ohio law to help you prepare to pass the Boards. He will also include practical test taking tips.

Social and Student Olympics
Saturday, 5pm
Form a team for your school and compete for the prestigious Pharmacy Olympics Trophy while getting to know students from all over the state! Followed by a student social to expand your network!

Disclosure of faculty and commercial support relationships will be made known at each activity.

Continuing Education Credit
This Conference is targeted to all pharmacists and student pharmacists. The Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) portion is coordinated by the Ohio Pharmacists Foundation. To receive CPE credit, pharmacists must attend the entire session, actively participate, complete the CPE form indicating sessions attended, and return the signed form to OPA within 30 days of the Conference. CPE credit will be uploaded
to the CPE Monitor at the end of each month. CPE Statements of Credit can be printed from the CPE monitor.
Learning objectives for each of the continuing pharmacy education programs can be found on the OPA website at www.ohiopharmacists.org. All CPE sessions are knowledge-based activities unless otherwise indicated.
