University Hospitals (UH) Ventures identifies, develops, and deploys the most disruptive and creative innovations that originate from within University Hospitals and organizations all over the world. Built to draw on the historic and present strengths of University Hospitals, UH Ventures pursues the innovative opportunities that drive definitive, sustainable, and scalable value to the way care is delivered. To achieve sustainable, clinical transformation we cannot confine ourselves to the established dogma that has served to limit healthcare growth and innovation. To that end, we are launching a Post Graduate Year One (PGY1) Ambulatory System Innovation Pharmacy residency. The program will be offered to licensed pharmacists and new graduates eligible for licensure July 1st. The program will provide extensive clinical experience and prepare graduates for board certification, but will not sit in existing accreditation systems. Residents will practice at the top of patient care. There is a focus on building, launching, and establishing new models of care while perfecting established ones. Resiliency, patient engagement, and flexibility are the keys to success. For academic year 2023-2024, we are offering 50 positions. UH has always been deeply committed to hiring internal candidates, and we anticipate hiring many of the program’s graduates in clinical positions.
