2015 Drug Info Challenge:

The goal of OPA’s Drug Information Challenge is to highlight quality drug information responses solicited from students across the state, who submitted questions from physicians, educators, patients and preceptors. Submissions were encouraged to be innovative and unique. Judges scored responses on grammar, punctuation, completeness of response, strength of references, and clarity of recommendation.

This year’s winner was Tiffany Kneuss, PharmD candidate 2016 from Ohio Northern University. Her article, Oxaliplatin desensitization, was published in the April 2015 issue of the Ohio Pharmacist.

The following article, Steroid use in Prednisone Allergy , was submitted by Abby Shuck, PharmD candidate 2015 from University of Findlay and received honorable mention.

The following article, Diphenhydramine use in insomnia, was submitted by Haley DeCoy, PharmD candidate 2018 University of Findlay and received honorable mention.


2014 Challenge

In 2014, the winner was Sarah Turley, PharmD candidate 2015 from Ohio Northern University. Her article, Guaifenesin in Fertility, was published in the April 2014 issue of the Ohio Pharmacist.

The following article, Use of Budesonide in Eosinophilic Esophagitis, was submitted by Abira Corrigan, PharmD candidate 2014 from The Ohio State University and received honorable mention.

The following article, Beyond-Use-Date of Dextrose Syringes from a Sterile Stock Solution was submitted by Brandon Bourgeois, PharmD candidate 2016 Ohio Northern University and received honorable mention.


2013 Challenge 

In 2013 the winner was Joy Hoffman, PharmD candidate 2016, from Ohio Northern University. Her article, Effervescent Alendronate Bioavailability, was published in the April 2013 issue of Ohio Pharmacist.

Antithrombotic Therapy in Chronic Heart Failure, was submitted by Ashley Neltner and Jordan Staley, PharmD candidates 2013 from Ohio Northern University and received honorable mention.

Statins in Rheumatoid Arthritis, was submitted by Leandro Llambi, PharmD candidate 2014 from University of Cincinnati and received honorable mention.
