Ben Aronson Recognized as UNDER 40 Award Recipient

Benjamin Aronson, R.Ph., PharmD, PhD
The Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) announced that Benjamin Aronson, R.Ph., PharmD, PhD of Findlay, Ohio was honored as a distinguished UNDER 40 award recipient for professional achievements and vision in the practice of pharmacy at its 142nd Annual Conference held August 28-30.
Aronson has obtained over $160,000 in grant funding, published 22 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and helped author three technical reports for community partners. Aronson has given 44 conference presentations at the local, state, and national levels. He created the Student-Pharmacist Inventory of Professional Engagement (S-PIPE) instrument that is currently being used by several U.S. colleges of pharmacy, as well as globally. After serving on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Pharmacists Association, he became involved in the Ohio Pharmacists Association. He is a member of OPA’s Pharmacy Economics and Practice Advancement and Innovation Committees. Outside of his research and professional pharmacy commitments, Aronson volunteers his time with children at a local primary school and church. One of his peers describes him as “trying to improve and bring pharmacy forward not only with his research, but also by investing in students and other pharmacists to do the same.”
Aronson earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Minnesota, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Social and Administrative Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota.
Ben's response when asked Why do you belong to OPA? OPA represents all Ohio Pharmacists, and serves to unify us as a profession. The most important benefit I receive from OPA has to do with just that: OPA serves as the voice of our profession in Ohio and advocates on our behalf to advance the profession. I love that OPA unites us, serves as the state organization where we can discuss and debate our future as a profession, and then advocates for us to really make it happen.

OPA, established in 1879, represents more than 4,000 pharmacists, pharmacy educators, and pharmacy students throughout the state.
