The Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) announced that Chelsey Smith, R.Ph., PharmD of Dublin, Ohio was honored as a distinguished UNDER 40 award recipient for professional achievements and vision in the practice of pharmacy at its 141st Annual Conference held April 12-14, 2019 in Columbus. This award recognizes the professional achievements of young pharmacists, and advances them in the ranks of top-notch professionals from a variety of careers who have earned UNDER 40 recognition.
In just two years of practice as a pharmacist, Smith has quickly assumed teaching and mentoring responsibilities in addition to her patient care roles. She is a great ambassador to the profession of pharmacy through her involvement in training future pharmacists, as well as her close collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. She serves as chair of the research committee and as pharmacy liaison to the medical residency interviewing and matching process at Doctors Hospital Family Practice residency clinic.
Smith earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Ohio Northern University, followed by pharmacy residency training at Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Affairs Clinic in Columbus. She is a shared faculty pharmacist at Doctors Hospital Family Practice Clinic and Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy.
Chelsey’s response when asked Why do you belong to OPA? The most important benefit I receive from OPA is the opportunity to network and connect with pharmacists throughout the state of Ohio. There are numerous unique practice sites and experiences that our pharmacists have to share with each other in order to advance the profession of pharmacy and to work at the top of our licenses.
We thank Kroger Pharmacy for exclusively sponsoring the 2019 OPA UNDER 40 Recognition Program.
