Pharmacy leaders and policy shapers from around the state and around the country will be presenting innovative and best practices information essential to your pharmacy practice. You will have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with over 900 pharmacy professionals, students, and representatives of the pharmacy industry. The 60 hours of contemporary CE programming offered will expand your practice skills and fulfill your educational needs. Topics, including New Drugs, Wound and Ostomy Care, OTC/Self-Care Challenge, Management of Obesity, Medication Therapy Management Services , Buy/Sell a Pharmacy, Exercise is Medicine, Ohio Medicaid, Diabetes, Ischemic Heart Disease, Gastroenterology Update, and a two-hour Ohio Law Update which is approved for Ohio jurisprudence CE credit, will be sure to get your creative design juices flowing. Policies will be formed at the House of Delegates meeting, political contacts will be made at the PAC breakfast, prizes will be given away in the Exhibit Hall, and networking opportuni­ties with potential employers will be available at the Career Fair.

Continuing Education Credit
This Conference is targeted to all pharmacists and pharmacy students. The Continuing Education (CE) portion of the 130th OPA Annual Conference is being coordinated by the Ohio Pharmacists Foundation. As part of its mission, the Foundation provides education programs designed for pharmacists, to address the daily issues of pharmacy. To receive continuing pharmacy education credit, you must fill out the CE form indicating programs attended, sign, date, and return it to OPA staff. Your statement of CE credit will be mailed to you within four weeks.

The Ohio Pharmacists Foundation, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

Join OPA in paradise for a laid-back evening of island cuisine, fun music and comedy. Enjoy a delicious Cheeseburger in Paradise while our spotlight entertainer, Patrick Henry, combines his original humor with music. You won't want to miss the chance to hear a very talented musician and the special pharmacy surprises he has in store for you. You'll have plenty of time to talk to your friends, many of whom will be dressed in their best Parrot- head shirts, while you bid on your favorite items at the 4th Annual Ohio Pharmacists Foundation (OPF) Silent Auction. Your purchase will support OPF's educational programming and research. There's sure to be something for everyone at this year's auction. OPA President-Elect Dave Boyer, R.Ph. will be installed as President along with the 2008-2009 officers and trustees. The Ohio Pharmacists Association invites you to be a part of its 131st Annual Conference and Trade Show. The 2009 Trade Show gives you the opportunity to strengthen business relationships, make new contacts and increase productivity. Don't miss out on one of the most well attended meetings of pharmacists and pharmacy decision-makers in the Midwest.

  • Booths are 8'x10' $850 or
    10'x10' $925.
    (There is a 5% discount for multiple booths.)
  • Fee includes: pipe and draping, identification sign, 6' skirted table, 2 chairs, 2 box lunches.
    Booths are assigned on a first-come, first paid basis. Space cannot be confirmed until payment is received. Space is limited, so register early to insure your preferred space! There are three easy ways to register: by mail, by fax, or online.
  • Companies reserving space by March 6, 2009 will be listed, along with their company description, in the March issue of Ohio Pharmacist journal. Your company will also be promoted on our web page. Companies registering before April 3, 2009 will also be recognized in our Trade Show Directory and in our June post-conference issue of the journal.
  • Over 1000 pharmacists and pharmacy students attended the 2008 Conference.
    Pharmacists came from all aspects of the pharmacy industry, including future pharmacists from the state's five schools and colleges of pharmacy.
  • Previous exhibitors include wholesalers, manufacturers, temporary staffing agencies, computer vendors, and other ancillary service companies.
  • There will be no concurrent programming during Trade Show hours.
    Trade Show hours are Friday 3:40-6:00 p.m. and will include a cash bar and snacks. Saturday hours are 12:10-2:30 p.m. and includes lunch, served in the exhibit hall.
  • Exhibitors are welcome and encouraged to attend our social events on Friday and Saturday evenings. This is a great opportunity to spend time with pharmacists in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Detailed information about these specific events will follow at a later date.
  • Many valuable sponsorship opportunities are available! Opportunities include educational grants and/or special events during the Conference. Exclusive or shared sponsorships are available. We will work with you to design a package that makes the best use of your available funds and provides the maximum exposure for your company.
  • Expand your exposure: Advertise with OPA!
    OPA offers two advertising venues for your company: our monthly journal the Ohio Pharmacist, with a circulation of over 3,000 and our website with an average of over 50,000 hits monthly.   • The door prize drawing, which is held on the last day of the Trade Show, offers another opportunity to recognize contributing exhibitors. CAREER FAIR INFORMATION

The Ohio Pharmacists Association is pleased to invite you to participate in the Annual Career Fair which will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009. All employers looking for interns, residents, new graduates and experienced pharmacists are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

 

  • Registration Fee - $200
    Fee includes: 6' skirted table, two box lunches, and two complimentary admissions to any 2-hour CE program on Saturday.
  • Hours are Saturday from 12 noon -2:30 p.m. and includes lunch, served in the exhibit hall. There will be no concurrent programming.
  • Space is assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Space cannot be confirmed until a completed registration and payment is received. There are three easy ways to register: by mail, by fax, or online.
  • Companies reserving space by February 8, 2009 will be listed, along with their company description, in the March issue of Ohio Pharmacist journal. Your company will also be promoted on our web page.
